Gordon d'Arcy Cheesewright (affectionately known as "Stilton" to his friends) founded Stilton Advertising in 1926, on his return from spending two years working as a copywriter at PGW Associates in New York's Madison Avenue.

In 1939, he left for a short break to (as he described it) "Give Jerry a bloody nose" but was tragically killed when following a farewell drink with friends he fell under a tram on his way to enlist.

Successive family members subsequently kept the small agency in good health right up until 1992 when Stilton's great-grandson Andrew d'Arcy Booth took up the reins.

Now Stilton Advertising successfully supplies advertising and marketing services to a wide range of clients nationwide.
